Interested in a day of sustainability and conservation?

On Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12-4pm, Silver Star Brands, City of Oshkosh, and 4imprint are sponsoring an event to educate the community on ways to Live Green in every aspect of their lives.  The event will take place at the Leach Amphitheater in Oshkosh.  There will be kids activities, food for purchase, live music and educational booths from vendors to provide information on energy conservation, resource preservation, recycling, adopting pets, green transportation, and more!
A rain barrel is a system that collects rainwater from your roof that would otherwise be lost to runoff. Rain water is best for plants. Catching rain water in a rain barrel allows you to water your garden and plants in doors and out during dry periods. Instead of paying for water from the tap, you can use the water you collect to keep your landscape healthy – saving you money!

The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance will be hosting the rain barrel workshops taking place throughout the afternoon.  To ensure your spot and a rain barrel, please visit our registration page!

Using a rain barrel not only benefits you but also our local waters. Water stored in a rain barrel won’t rush off your property and carry pollutants to our streams and rivers. Not only that, water that is used for watering sinks into the ground and replenishes the ground water supply. Two great benefits from one barrel!

Workshop participants will receive barrel and all parts needed to quickly assemble and install a state of the art rain barrel with diverter. Tools for assembly are also provided. Workshop participants are responsible for transporting barrel home from workshop site.

More information about this event will be available on the Fox-Wolf website as it becomes available.

Please note: Due to use of power tools at workshop. All workshop participants must sign a waiver prior to participation. Workshop participants under the age of 18 will need parent/guardian signature on waiver, participants under the age of 16 will not be allowed to use power tools.
