Walleye Weekend 2017: June 9th through 11th
The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance is pleased to announce that we will be at Walleye Weekend 2017 in Fond du Lac this year!
Each year, Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac plays host to hundreds of vendors, food trucks, and exhibitors at its annual Walleye Weekend festival. This free event is the city’s largest festival of the year with activities for the entire family including the family fishing tournament, multiple music stages, the Mercury National Walleye Tournament, carnival rides, and much more!
New to the festival this year is the Waste Management Conservation Station located at the corner of Frazier and Promen Drive. Are you interested in bee keeping? Wanting to know more about rain barrels? Concerned about our lakes? This is the place for you! This exciting new station will have demonstrations and information about rain barrels, aquatic invasive species, clean water, recycling, backyard chicken and bee keeping!
The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance will be at the station with tables dedicated to aquatic invasive species (AIS) and protecting Wisconsin’s waters. Chris will have AIS and Winnebago Waterways information with a table loaded with actual invasive species specimens. Meanwhile, Kelly will be hosting a rain barrel demonstration on Saturday while talking about the RenewOurWaters campaign! Make sure to stop by and say hello!
