On October 24th, the Northeast Wisconsin Stormwater Consortium hosted a Winter Parking Lot Maintenance Workshop at the Town of Grand Chute Fire Department. Connie Fortin from Fortin Consulting, Inc. was on hand to provide a training opportunity for decision makers dealing with snow and ice removal from large impervious surfaces.
Those who attended the workshop learned about the harmful affects of salt pollution and ways they can make a difference in lessening those affects through proper planning, application and record keeping throughout the upcoming Wisconsin Winter. All attendees participating passed the workshop exam and are now certified in winter parking lot maintenance de-icing and anti-icing techniques and applications.
