The Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) is looking for your help updating their fleet of “Wall of Fame” trailers.
The “Wall of Fame” education trailer was introduced nine years ago. The portable, educational display features taxidermy mounts, interactive displays, and historical memorabilia with the goal of promoting stewardship of our natural resources. This, in turn, will help meet recruitment, retention and reactivation (R-3) goals, which WI’s future conservation efforts greatly depend on.
The WCC is looking to update and renovate the existing trailer, and complete two new ones (donated by Outdoors Heritage Education Center and DNR Law Enforcement) so that the trailers are readily available for WCC delegates to take to any appropriate event. Future and past events include the Annual Midwest Outdoor Heritage Education Expo (MOHEE), the Wisconsin State Fair, WI Deer and Turkey Expo, various Learn to Hunt and Fish programs, trapper’s rendezvous’, and county fairs.
Dale Maas, WCC Secretary, is asking for donations of the following:
Mounts of native fish, water fowl, and furbearers. They are not asking for trophy sized displays as space is limited. They currently have been offered mounts of a Snowy Owl, Bobcat, Bobolink, Robin and Great Horned Owl.
Historical memorabilia like an old “arm band for a party permit or a couple of old traps.
Cash – They will secure all of the needed state and federal permitting for any display that needs it, but taxidermy costs need to be covered for any “raw” specimens. Alternatively, discounted taxidermy services would be helpful too. Monetary donations will also fund other trailer set-up materials.
Additionally, conservation groups can sponsor the trailer and have their logo featured on the outside.
Any donations or sponsorship requests can be submitted to:
