The real (holdable, readable, flammable, dropable, tangible, etc) document that is the Lake Management Plan is coming together and starting to look good. Now, we need your help to make it look great.
A really easy way to get involved with the Lake Management Plan, and help us make that transition from good to great, is to join a focus group.
Focus groups are groups of concerned members of the public and organizations (stakeholders) for each management topic: aquatic invasive species, water quality, water levels, recreation, watershed management, habitat, community engagement, shoreline practices, and aquatic plant management.
Focus groups meet for a single, three-hour meeting. That’s it. One and done. Joining one of these groups is an easy way to contribute to the betterment of your lake. You don’t need to be an expert. We are calling all boaters, anglers, lakeshore residents, paddlers, sunset watchers, farmers, duck hunters…anyone really…who are concerned about some element of the Winnebago System and wants to engage in its improvement.
Focus Group Objectives:
- Consist of 10-12 members of the public for each topic;
- Help to ensure all relevant interests are adequately represented;
- Help develop evaluation criteria for reviewing management options;
- Provide input to help prioritize and select best management action recommendations.
