There has been a lot going on in our region, in our world, since we’ve had to reschedule our annual Fox-Wolf Watershed Cleanup event from May to August. With our volunteers’ safety in mind, we have made some changes to our annual event. For 2020, we will not host a Cleanup Picnic following our event as we usually have 700-800 volunteers attend. We look forward to volunteers joining us at our Cleanup Picnic following our 2021 event. Additionally, we are taking extra precautions to keep our volunteers safe while cleaning up. Read more below.
Our updated Cleanup Photo Contest categories include:
- Most Garbage
- Weirdest Item Found
- Biggest Item
- Biggest Smile
- Cleanup by Boat, Kayak, or Canoe
- Best Social Distancing Photo
- Best GIF
- Best Scenery
- Best Trelphie (Trelphie = trash selfie)
- Coolest find
More categories may be added as we get closer to the event.
For August’s Cleanup, we will have safety measures in place in order to host a fun, safe, and impactful event.
These include:
• High quality, reusable “Site Leader” masks for all of our cleanup Site Leaders
• Extra gloves for all volunteers
• Hand sanitizer pumps at all sites
• A suggestion for volunteers to wear masks (though not required)
• Instructions for social distancing during the event
• Disposable masks on hand for volunteers who would like them
• First-aid kits at all sites
