Northeast Wisconsin Hunter Safety – Field Day Certification

One of the missions of Wisconsin Waterfowl Association (WWA) is education. WWA’s founding fathers wanted to ensure that youth education was a priority for the Organization. According to a recent email WWA sent to their members, they are hearing that more and more youth are turning toward the online option to obtain their Hunter Safety certificate in Wisconsin for a number of reasons. Online Hunter Safety students must pass the online course and successfully complete a Field Test administered by certified instructors. These “field test days” opportunities are limited.

This is why we are excited to share WWA’s announcement that they are partnering with two Hunter Safety Instructors from central Wisconsin and the Pittsfield Trap Club to offer a Certified Field Test in northeast Wisconsin.

To participate, a student must

  • Obtain a WDNR Customer ID#
  • Complete and pass the online course (apply with fee to WDNR, more information available at www.hunter-ed.com/Wisconsin).
  • RSVP – the course is limited to 15 spots and all spots must be reserved in advance.

The online course certificate and a $10 fee are required for admission to the field day. Students should plan to bring their own lunch and beverages as well as a notebook, pen, pencil, and face covering.

Other Information

The 15 spots will fill up quickly, so make your reservations as soon as possible. It is advised that students complete the online course as soon as possible once your reservation for the field day is confirmed. All students will be required to have a face covering to comply with Wisconsin’s COVID-19 restrictions and should bring a notebook, pen and pencil.
