EXCITING NEWS from Winnebago County!!!
According to the Winnebago County Parks & Sunnyview Expo Center Facebook page, construction crews have started prepping for a new bridge at Asylum Point. A new, clear-span bridge will soon connect to the island, which is home to the Asylum Point Lighthouse. The project is partially funded by NRDC grants.
Follow the Winnebago County Parks Facebook page to stay updated on the project. The project is anticipated to be completed this summer.
Please note: the turnaround at the end of Sherman Rd. will be closed to traffic during construction. Be safe and never enter the construction zone without authorization.
In other news, Winnebago County Parks is contracting for a master plan for the Butte des Morts Landing on Leonard’s Point Rd and all navigation buoys are repainted and on the lakes.
