Farmers may find the information useful to determine local (near Omro) soil temps and moisture for their planting timing. Non-farmers may be interested in comparing the field that’s been under soil health management for years versus the field that hasn’t. Both groups may find it interesting to watch the new field transition as it starts being managed to promote its soil health.
The charts labeled “soil health” are from a sensor in a field that’s been under no-till and cover crops for several years. The charts labeled “transitioning” are a field that’s been conventionally farmed (aka – with tillage and no cover crops).
Demo farmer Rick Gehrke purchased this land recently, and is now transitioning it to no-till and cover crops.
