The 2022 Fox-Wolf Watershed Cleanup was our biggest cleanup to date! Because of the hard work of over 1,600 volunteers in the Fox-Wolf River basin, on Saturday, May 7th, over 8,000 pounds of trash was removed from our waters, shorelines, and public spaces! In total, 1,617 volunteers headed out to nearly 70 locations throughout the basin and removed over four tons of garbage from our lakes, rivers, streams, and harbors!

Drumroll please…

Our volunteers removed 8,429 pounds of trash from our waterways!! Specifically, they cleaned up 958 bags of trash, 1,051 plastic straws, 2,701 plastic bags, 105 syringes, 35 electronics, and 66 tires! This couldn’t have been accomplished without amazing community support!

We love sharing the stories our volunteers tell from their adventures cleaning up. Volunteers cleaning up along the Newton-Blackmour trail in Outagamie County removed 46 tires from the Wolf River, volunteers in Oshkosh pulled a baby stroller out of wetlands at Asylum Point, and volunteers in Allouez removed a large flatscreen TV from the banks of the Fox River. After cleaning up, over 800 volunteers joined us at the Cleanup Picnic in Appleton for lunch, bounce houses, face painting, raffles, and more! We hope you take the time to check out all of the volunteer photos on our Facebook page. You can also search #FoxWolfCleanup on social media to find event photos from 2015 to present.
