Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I find my cleanup site?
A: Use the maps provided in the regional sections above to locate your assigned site. Each section includes parking details and important site-specific information.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Volunteers should wear weather-appropriate clothing. You may wish to consider bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, or insect repellant. If you’d like to participate in the photo contest, be sure to bring your phone/camera too! We’ll provide disposable gloves, trash & recycling bags, and instructions. Your Site Leader will have a first aid kit if needed.
Q: When should I arrive?
A: Volunteers should arrive at their assigned site 5-10 minutes before the cleanup start time to check in with their site leader and get supplies. Your Site Leader will give you all the instructions you need for the day.
Q: What should I do when I’m done?
A: After completing your cleanup, please check in with your Site Leader before you leave. They will record your information and collect your supplies. Then you can head to the celebration picnic! Join fellow volunteers for food, fun, and a chance to share your cleanup experience.
Q: Is there a photo contest?
A: Yes! Our photo contest is returning this year. Details will be announced soon, so start planning your best cleanup snapshots!
Q: Do I get a free shirt?
A: Yes – if you registered before March 31. Vote for your favorite design here.
Q: How do I get a shirt if I registered in April?
A: You can head over to the Fox-Wolf online store to buy your own cleanup shirt. It may not be free, but it will be full color — and a portion of your purchase will go to fund future water conservation efforts!
Q: What happens in case of bad weather?
A: The event will generally proceed in light rain. In case of severe weather, check your email and our website for updates.
Q: What if I need to make changes to my registration?
A: Most changes to registration need to be made manually by our staff. We are happy to help you! Please contact us at cleanup@fwwa.org to let us know if you want to cancel or add people, change a t-shirt size, or move to a different cleanup site.
Q: How can I get more involved?
A: Many volunteers decide they want to do more to help improve water quality. Check out our website for information on how to donate, become a member, or choose another volunteer opportunity.
Q: Who do I contact if I have questions?
A: If you have questions before the day of the cleanup, email us at cleanup@fwwa.org. On the day of the event, you can call us at 920.858.3982.
