Emily Hennrigillis recently joined the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance team as the Regional Watershed Coordinator for Shawano & Menominee Counties. This is a new position for the Alliance funded by a WDNR Surface Water Grant along with local support from many of the Lake Associations and the Land Conservation Departments in the two counties.

Emily has been interested in the aquatic environment since the age of 5. Following her dream of wanting to be a marine biologist she ended up at UW-Whitewater. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2010 where she met her husband. She moved to Green Bay and got her Master’s Degree from UW-Green Bay in Environmental Science. Emily started at Onterra while in grad school and worked there for seven years. The experience she gained there is unmatched.

Emily and her husband welcomed a son in 2018. They also have two adorable cats. In her free time, Emily enjoys kayaking, gardening, trying to be a Crossfitter, and helping with Fox Cities Roller Derby. Emily is also a director of Women of Aquatics.

Emily is excited to be a part of the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance team and is looking forward to helping implement best management practices to improve the Wolf River watershed within Shawano and Menominee Counties.

As Coordinator, Emily will be working with Lake Associations, Land Conservation Departments, UW Extension, WDNR and other partners in the counties to provide education, engage land owners – lakeshore and agricultural, and work with partners to advance implementation of Lake Management Plans that have been developed for lakes throughout the counties.
