Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance hosts event promoting clean water, healthy land, and better beer
The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance (FWWA) is partnering with the Fox River Brewing Company to promote clean waters, healthy land, and better beer. The Clean Water Makes Better Beer event will take place at the Fox River Brewing Company’s Oshkosh brewery on Thursday August 23, at 4:30 pm (1501 Arboretum Dr, Oshkosh, WI 54901). FWWA will be launching free 30-minute boat tours from the brewery. The tours will head into the south end of Lake Butte des Morts, where FWWA will highlight water quality issues and important work being done on the Winnebago System, including the development of a lake management plan.
“The goal of this event is to connect the health of the Winnebago system to the vitality of our local economy, quality recreational opportunities, and in this case, better beer. We really want to get people out who might not normally get a chance to be on the water,” says Austin Pethan of the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance.
The brewery will be offering tour participants buy one get one free beer coupons as a way to say thank you for participating. The brewery will also be hosting musician Taylor Jacobson at 6:00 pm. Tours will depart every 30-45 minutes with the last tour leaving around 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to participate – there is no charge for a boat tour. Scotty’s Pontoon and Wolf River Resorts have graciously donated pontoon boats for the event.
