Fond du Lac Fishing Has No Boundaries
The Fond du Lac Chapter of Fishing Has No Boundaries is run by a volunteer board of directors with the assistance of 100s of other volunteers. The parent group, Fishing Has No Boundaries, as founded in 1986 by Bobby Cammack as a result of a broken leg. He wanted to be able to fish, with the broken leg, but it just wasn’t as easy as it use to be. After a bit of research, planning, and perseverance, the first Fishing Has No Boundaries event was held in 1988 in Chippewa Flowage in Hayward, Wisconsin. This event hosted all persons with disabilities, regardless of age, race, gender, and especially severity of disability. This event gathered 75 people from 7 states. By 2002, FHNB has over 8,000 participants at a variety of events, with double the amount of volunteers. In 2007, there were 23 events, in 11 different states. In 2004, Fond du Lac jumped on board and started a chapter. With meager beginnings, this location now hosts nearly 100 participants and another 200 volunteers every year.
