The Statewide Walleye Team is in the early stages of updating Wisconsin’s Walleye Management Plan. They are currently seeking public input and are holding public virtual meetings regionally throughout the state. Pre-registration is required to attend.
You can read about the plan update process and the different avenues for providing input here: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/fishing/outreach/WalleyePlan
Regions 6, 7, and 10 encompass counties that include the Lake Winnebago System (Region 6: Wood, Portage, Waupaca, Adams, Juneau, Waushara, Marquette, and Green Lake Counties; Region 7: Taylor, Lincoln, Marathon, Langlade, Menomonie, and Shawano Counties; Region 10: Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, and Fond du Lac Counties). The Region 6 and Region 7 meeting have already happened, but the Region 10 meeting will be held on January 26. These are “focus group” style meetings that run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Anyone who would like to participate in these virtual public meetings should contact Max Wolter at Max.Wolter@wisconsin.gov. Pre-registration is required.
