Learn 2 Fish With Us, Inc., a local non-profit located next to Lake Winnebago, was started in 2006 by Greg Karch, founder and certified Angler Educator and Instructor. Greg’s passion for fishing and giving back to the community led him to create a series of unique seminars that he provides to organizations all over Wisconsin FREE of charge. Learn 2 Fish With Us has educated more than 50.000 anglers in Wisconsin since 2006 and has hosted 270+ free fishing workshops!
Their clinics teach youth, families and fisherman about safety, equipment, how to use the equipment, techniques, tips, bait and more for open water fishing and ice fishing. They’ve managed to stay busy throughout the pandemic by offering virtual clinics and providing educational videos online. They are now back to in-person sessions.
Learn 2 Fish has already hosted several fishing clinics this year for local groups including Oshkosh Boy Scouts, Webster Stanley Middle School, and students in the Kimberly School District. Next week they will be back in Oshkosh to host two all day fishing clinics for the 4th and 5th graders in the Oshkosh School District. Their schedule is jam packed for the summer with clinics to educate anglers and increase participation in the sport.
The Learn 2 Fish website provides lots of great information on how to volunteer, donate, or request a clinic for your group. Their website also provides educational resources for people looking to learn about fishing. Their active blog documents their activities so their supporters can follow along as Greg makes his way across Wisconsin (including photos!).
